How to flash/unbrick or upgrade MediaTek (MTK) devices with WiseLinkTool

This is another tool which can be used in flashing our MediaTek MTK devices. It works basically like SP Flash Tool but can read scatter files which are either in .txt or .sca format.

Has multi port option which can flash many similar devices at same time.

OK now lets go to how to use WiseLinkTool

Download WiseLinkTool v4.1.0.39 or WiseLinkTool v4.6.4.44

Download and install MTK USB VCOM drivers from here

Extract, install and launch by opening WiseLinkTool.exe inside installation folder

Click on Open RegCode File Navigate and select ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.key from extract folder

Click OK

Now Click on the button with ... to load scatter file (Scatter files can either be in .txt or .sca format)

Navigate and select the scatter file of the device you want to flash/unbrick or upgrade.

Tick the required partition to flash (Tick all for complete flash or upgrade)

Click Download Button and connect phone to PC

When process is complete,the phone will reboot or start charging depending on the option selected After Downloaded Tab.

Note that first boot after flash

Congrats! you have successfully flashed your device

Common Errors after flashing a device

If you have null or invalid imei number after flash, restore with mtk engineering mode app, chamelephon, SN Write Tool or mtk droid tools

If device bootloops after flash process, do a factory reset from recovery.

If screen of device divides/displays funny colours when boot up, use another ROM or Firmware

Full ROM for Lenovo P780 Upgrade with Flash Tool ROW_S228 - Update official firmware Android KitKat for Lenovo P780 come with the build number S228_ROW_150112, this guide will show you step by step how to update Lenovo P780 to build number S228_ROW version. Another guide maybe interesting to see is Update Lenovo P780 to ROW_S228 with OTA method.
This guide will only provide download files that needed to update Lenovo P780 and a links where you can see the step to update, because updating Lenovo P780 using flash tool will be the same with the previous guide, so i will just use the previous guide to show you the step. Before update please do backup preparations because this guide will erase all your data, and has possibility to brick your device.

For Lenovo P780 buy from china and have produce year 2014, please do full backup before starting following this guide because it reported flashing this ROM will get flash tool error 4032.

Flash Tool v5.1352 ? please only flash using this version flash tool, not recommend to use another version.
USB Vcom driver ? driver that need so the flash tool can recognize your device as USB port, needed to install first.

Full ROM for Lenovo P780 Upgrade with Flash Tool ROW_S228

First thing to do is install USB Vcom driver on your computer, without this driver installed on your computer flash tool will not recognize your device and progress bar will stay at 0%, for installing USB Vcom driver please refer to this below :
- turn off your device and remove the battery, If you device using non removable make sure that your device is completely turn off
- open device manager on your computer
- connect your device using USB cable
- there will be MTK65xx Preloader Devices show on your device manager, PORT section for 5 second or less and then disappear
- disconnect and connect your device again, right click on MTK65xx Preloader Devices before it disappear, select Update Driver Software
- point it USB VCOM extracted folder, and install the driver from there.
- disconnect and connect your device again, there will be Mediatek PreLoader USB VCOM Port on your device manager PORT section.

After successful install USB Vcom driver now we can start the step to update Lenovo P780, for step by step for update please refer to below :
- Extract ROM downloaded and the flash tool on then same folder, for easy organize it and flashing it. Go to flash tool extracted folder and run flash_tool.exe. If you are using windows 7 or later please run it using administrator privilege.
- On the flash tool, please go to Options ? Option ? Download please make sure DA DL All with Checksum already checked, click X (Close) to back to Flash Tool, this option is very important so please dont forget it.
- Once back to flash tool, now please click on the Scatter-Loading button and point it to ROM extracted folder and the select MT6589_Android_scatter_emmc.txt this will automatically loaded all required images file to update your device, Please wait until flash tool finish processing the image files and become stand by.
- Change Download option from Download Only to Firmware Upgrade mode, now you can press Download button or hit CTRL+D. Flash tool will initialize the files that add to the flash tool and when finish flash tool will ready to make connection with your device.
- When flash tool already finish and stand by, now please turn off your device and remove the battery. Connect your device to computer using USB cable, flash tool will immediately recognize your device and begin to start flashing process, this process will take 5-6 minutes to finish and when you see GREEN CIRCLE in the middle of flash tool that mean flashing process already finish

Done, you have successful update your Lenovo P780 with firmware version ROW_S228, please confirm it with go to System Setting ? About Phone and look at the Build Number it must be same with the downloaded ROM.

Upgrade Lenovo S920 with Android KitKat ROW version, Official Release - This guide is will install Android KitKat ROW version to your Lenovo S920, I already have 2 guide how to install Lenovo S920 with Android KitKat but all of them is using CN version firmware. The most advantage getting ROW version is this firmware support multilanguage, already include google applications and it not contains any annoying china software. S920_ROW_S213_140714 ? 871Mb, Contains all required files to flashing Android KitKat to your device.
USB VCOM Driver ? Install this driver first on your computer, Turn off your device and remove the battery, using USB cable connect your device while look at My Computer ? Manage ? Device Manager there will be MTK65xx Preloader Devices show up for 5 second than disappeared, before disappeared right click on it and select Update Driver Software point it to USB VCOM Driver extracted folder. When it finish disconnect and connect again there will be Mediatek PreLoader USB VCOM Port on your device manager.

SP Flash Tool v5.1352 ? Flashing tool needed to install Android KitKat to your device, This tool also already include when you download ROM file. Back it just for backup (Mirror)

Upgrade Lenovo S920 with Android KitKat ROW version, Official Release

Make sure USB VCOM driver completely installed on your computer before continued to next step, Download and extract S920_ROW_S213_140714 to your computer, this contains also SP Flash Tool and ROM images folder (target_bin).
Open SP Flash Tool folder and run Flash_Tool.exe, run it using administrator privilege when you using windows 7 or later. On SP Flash Tool open Options ? Option ? Download make sure DA DL All with Checksum is already checked, click X (Close) to apply the change and back to SP Flash Tool.

Back to SP Flash Tool, now click Scatter-Loading and point it to target_bin/MT6589_Android_scatter_emmc.txt on locate on S920_ROW_S213_140714 extracted folder, this will automatically load all necessary files to SP Flash Tool.

Change Download only option on SP Flash Tool to Firmware Upgrade mode, Finish configure all now press Download button or hit CTRL+D, wait SP Flash Tool to initialize and become to stand by mode.

Turn off your device and remove the battery, wait 5 second then connect your device to your computer. SP Flash Tool will begin recognize your device and start the flashing process, this process mark by RED, PURPLE, and YELLOW bar on the bottom SP Flash Tool. When you see GREEN CIRCLE on the middle of SP Flash Tool, this mean flashing process already finish and you can disconnect your device.

Done, you have successful upgrade your Lenovo S920 to Android KitKat, confirm it with go to System Setting ? About Phone look at Build Number make sure the version is same with the downloaded.

Upgrade Lenovo S820 with Android KitKat Row Version - Lenovo S820 already received update to Android KitKat, This update can be apply using OTA or flashing using SP Flash Tool. Today i will post a guide on how to Update Lenovo S820 with Android KitKat ROW version but different from any other guide that i has been post is i will use OTA update for installing this update. There will be some condition that must be filled before you can follow this guide, and i will explain it later.

Upgrade Lenovo S820 with Android KitKat Row Version

Requirements :
- This can be do only if your current firmware is S820_ROW_S124_140404, please confirm it with go to System Setting ? About Phone ? Build Number.
- Confirm that your Lenovo device still using stock Lenovo recovery.
- This update will be delete all your data store on your device, backup first for safety.
- Lenovo S820 8GB can also follow this guide, but still do with your own risk.
- Jump to Step 3,

If above conditions cannot be filled, than you cannot update your Lenovo S820 to Android KitKat.
If your Lenovo S820 not used ROW_S124 then you still can follow below step :
- S820_ROW_S124_140404 (4GB) ? This contains all required files to flashing your device to S124 version. This files can be install using SP Flash Tool
- S820_ROW_8G_S124_140404 (8GB) ? This contains all required files to flashing your device to S124 version for Lenovo S820 8GB. This files can be install using SP Flash Tool

After finish complete the requirements now it time to update, rename S820_ROW_S220_140722 to update.zip, now move or copy update.zip to your SD Card. Please copy on SD Card root dont copy inside a folder.
Turn off your device, wait for 5-6 second for complete turn off.
Press and hold Power + Volume Up + Volume Down button, release it when you can see Lenovo recovery main menu.
Your device will be start and update will be start automatically, wait for the installation until finish.
Done, now your device already successful update with Android KitKat, confirm with go to System Setting ? About Phone ? Build Number

Lenovo P780 Upgrade with Vibe UI v2.0 + Google Applications - Today guide i will try to give or show how to update Lenovo P780 to VIbe UI v2.0 and also install google service on it. This guide will be very long and complicated and very dangerous to follow for beginner, please consider it first before following this guide.
Vibe UI v2.0 using CN version firmware so it will only have 2 languages, CN and EN and it will contains many unwanted chinese applications that will not work if you outside china country. But this can be remove once you ROOT your device.
This guide only try for once with success rate 70%, this guide can brick your device and make you lost your data.

Lenovo P780 Upgrade with Vibe UI v2.0 + Root + Gapps

Must Do :

Full backup your current ROM, using MTK Droid Tool or using Custom Recovery Backup.
Backup your IMEI using MobileUncle MTK Tools ? needed ROOT, and make sure you backup store at external SD Card.
If your current ROM is ROW / International or Vibe UI v2.0 then you must follow this guide from start / Format your device and install CN version ROM.

Downloads :

P780_S129_130710 ? 782 Mb, contains full S129 CN ROM images files, if you already use CN ROM version than no need to download this.
VIBEUI_V2.0_1437_ST_P780 ? 647 Mb, contain Vibe UI v2.0 ROM
CWM 6.0.2.8 ? 5.8 Mb, custom recovery CWM 6.0.2.8 for CN ROM only, cannot be use for ROW version
Gapps Light_4.4.2 signed ? 45 Mb, contain google applications.
SuperUser v1.05 ? 3.3 Mb, Root applications and SU binary.
USB VCOM Driver ? Install this driver first on your computer, Turn off your device and remove the battery, using USB cable connect your device while look at My Computer ? Manage ? Device Manager there will be MTK65xx Preloader Devices show up for 5 second than disappeared, before disappeared right click on it and select Update Driver Software point it to USB VCOM Driver extracted folder. When it finish disconnect and connect again there will be Mediatek PreLoader USB VCOM Port on your device manager.

Vibe UI Cleaner ? this use to clean all chinese applications on Vibe UI ROM, download it if you wanna remove all chinese applications

Lenovo P780 Upgrade with Vibe UI v2.0 + Root + Gapps

Download all required files, make sure USB VCOM driver is successful installed on your pc, without this you cannot continued to next step.
Move or copy VIBEUI_V2.0_1437_ST_P780, Gapps Light_4.4.2 signed, Vibe UI Cleaner and SuperUser v1.05 to your external SD Card. Place it on external SD Card root, dont inside the folder.
Before continued to the next step make sure you already make backup preparations
Installing P780_S129 ROM
- extract P780_S129_130710, then extract again target_bin.rar and P780????_20130312(v3.1304.0.119).rar ? this is a flash tool that needed to flash ROM to Lenovo devices. If you found that the flash tool cannot be run then download this Flash Tool v3.1304
- Open SP Flash Tool folder, find Flash Tool and run it, if you using windows 7 try to run using administrator privileges. Please check DA DL All with Check Sum this is an important option please dont forget it or you will finish with error on boot. Now click Scatter-Loading button then point it to target_bin/MT6589_Android_scatter_emmc.txt this will load all files required to flash tool.
- Press Download button or hit F9, flash tool will begin initialize the ROM files, wait until finish and flash tool in stand by mode.
- Now turn off your device and remove the battery, wait for 2-3 seconds then connect your device using USB cable. Flash tool will recognize your device and begin to start flashing process. The process will take 5-6 minutes, just wait until you can see the GREEN CIRCLE in the middle of flash tool
- Now you can disconnect your device, but dont turn it on first. Continued to next step.

Installing Custom Recovery CWM 6.0.2.8
- This step is like above step but using the different files, extract CWM 6.0.2.8 it will contains 2 files MT6589_Android_scatter_emmc.txt and recovery.img.
- Open SP Flash Tool folder, find Flash Tool and run it, if you using windows 7 try to run using administrator privileges. Please check DA DL All with Check Sum this is an important option please dont forget it or you will finish with error on boot. Now click Scatter-Loading button then point it to recovery_cwm_p780/MT6589_Android_scatter_emmc.txt this will automatically load recovery.img to flash tool
- Press Download button or hit F9, if you got warning that tell not all images loaded properly just click Yes button
- Turn off your device again and remove the battery, connect your device to your computer, and the flash tool will begin starting the flashing process. It will take 5-10 seconds to finish the process.
- When you see GREEN CIRCLE in the middle of flash tool, this mean you can disconnect your device but still dont urn it on yet . and continued to next step

Installing Vibe UI v2.0 1437
- Go to recovery mode, if you dont know how just press and hold Power button + Volume Up + Volume Down release until you can see CWM main menu
- On CWM main menu, Select Install zip from sdcard ? Choose zip from sdcard ? point to VIBEUI_V2.0_1437_ST_P780, confirm all and begin to start update process, this process will take 5-6 minutes so please be patient and wait the process.
- After finish back to CWM main menu again and repeat above step but with different file, now point it to Vibe UI Cleaner, this process will remove unwanted chinese applications from your device.
- Wait until finish and back to CWM main menu, Now select Reboot System Now, When there is an option Root or Revert Recovery please select No your device will reboot and enter to Home Screen.
- Until this step you already successful upgrade your Lenovo P780 with Vibe UI v2.0 1437, try to change the language to english and confirm your version by go to System Setting ? About Phone

Installing Google Applications and Rooting

Turn off your device and go to recovery mode, press and hold Power button + Volume Up + Volume Down button release when you see CWM main menu.
Select Install zip from sdcard ? Choose zip from sdcard ? point to Gapps Light_4.4.2 signed, when installation finish back to main menu again.
Select Install zip from sdcard ? Choose zip from sdcard ? point to SuperUser v1.05 this will root your device.
Back on CWM main menu, select Reboot System Now, device will reboot and begin updating system applications, wait until you can see your Home screen.

Done.

Tecno recently launched the HIOS which is its official User Interface (UI), just like Infinix has XUI. At the moment, HIOS is available for only the Tecno Boom J8 and Camon C8

REQUIREMENTS FOR TECNO CAMON C8 MARSHMALLOW UPDATE:

- First of all, make sure you
charge your device to atleast 90% if not less.

- Now, if your device is rooted,
Kindly, unroot it to avoid bricks.

- Lastly, download Tecno camon

DOWNLOAD7 Procedures To Upgrade Camon C8 To Marshmallow:

1. Place the Tcard_update_20160415 or update.zip on your SD Card (It shouldnt be kept or saved in any folder)

2. Power off your Camon C8
device

3. Now boot into the bootloader by holding the Power Button + Volume Up until the startup logo appears, then leave the Power Button Only and you should see the android logo.

4. Again, long-press the Power
Button for about 3 seconds, then simply press the Volume Up button this time around without releasing the power button.

5. Remember, whenever you want to navigate around in this mode, youll make use of Volume Up or Down buttons. So use Volume Down to navigate to "Apply update from sdcard" and tap the power button to select it.

6. You will be welcomed into a new interface just as you can see from this image.

Now utilize the Volume down
button to navigate to Tcard_update_20160415 and simply tap the power button to select it.

7. At this point, the installation
process will start and when it is
done, you will see a screen like
this. Just reboot your phone and you are all done.

NOTE: It can take up to 8 to 10mins for your Tecno camon c8 Marshmallow to boot finish. You dont have to worry. be patience.

On a successful boot,, you will
see Tecno HiOS and Marshmallow 6.0 on your Tecno Camon C8 Smartphone!
