Lenovo S960 Install Android 4.2 S960_S123 CN Version Firmware - This guide is about to install CN firmware to your Lenovo S960, this is Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. This guide needed when your CN device got problem when try to install or flashing international ROM version, you can back to Android 4.2 to fix the problem, make backup ROM and IMEI and etc. Why need to back to Android 4.2 because Android 4.2 a lot easier to root, you can use vroot, root genius or any other one click root method to root it.

- USB VCOM Driver ? Install this driver first on your computer, Turn off your device and remove the battery, using USB cable connect your device while look at My Computer ? Manage ? Device Manager there will be MTK65xx Preloader Devices show up for 5 second than disappeared, before disappeared right click on it and select Update Driver Software point it to USB VCOM Driver extracted folder. When it finish disconnect and connect again there will be Mediatek PreLoader USB VCOM Port on your device manager.
- SP Flash Tool v3.1324 ? this is an optional download, actually when you downloaded ROM files it included flash tool also.

- Download all required files above, place it on one folder for easy organize it. Please make sure that USB VCOM driver already completely installed on your computer before continued to the next step.
- Extract downloaded ROM files, you will find 3 7z files and one folder. Flash tool is located inside the folder, extract target_bin.7z and you also need to extract flash tool inside the folder, SNOOPY????_20130703_(v3.1324.0.177).rar
- Go to folders and located flash tool, run flash tool.exe if you are using windows 7 or later then please run using administrator privilege to avoid any permission error, If you got Access Violation when trying to run it then just remove all china character from flash tool folder. On the flash tool check DA DL All with Checksum option, then click on the Scatter-Loading button and point it to target_bin/MT6589_Android_scatter_emmc.txt this action will also automatically load all required images to flash tool.
- Finish configure flash tool, just press Download button or hit F9, when you received information that not all images loaded correctly just press Yes button, flash tool will begin initialize the ROM files, become stand by and ready to connect with your device.
- Now turn off your device, because Lenovo S960 use non removable battery you must wait until you can make sure that your device is completely turn off, connect your device and the flash tool will recognize your device and begin to start the flashing process.
- Process will take 5-6 minutes to finish, and when finish it will inform by GREEN CIRCLE in the middle of flash tool with Download OK information box. When you can see it then you free to disconnect your device.
- Done.You already successful upgrade / downgrade your Lenovo S960 to Android 4.2 S960_S123 CN version firmware, confirm it with go to System Setting ? About Phone

Unlocking bootloader for Lenovo S90 running Android KitKat or Android Lollipop ROW CN
Unlocking bootloader for Lenovo S90 running Android KitKat or Android Lollipop (ROW/CN) - Unlocking bootloader is necessary step for modified Lenovo S90, some advantages unlocking bootloader is root can be install on your device, change official recovery with custom recovery in this case change to TWRP.
Rooting and change custom recovery also give some advantage too, from backing up system until installing custom ROM also. But the process to unlocking bootloader is not easy and sometime can make your device brick, so must be understand the risk before start following this guide.
The author assume that you already know the risk if the process is fail, and there is no warranty if the process is always success 100%.

Requirements :
- PC with windows 7 preferably 32 bit, windows 8 and windows 10 not suitable for the guide.
- A good shape USB cable
- We need to install all necessary driver and a flasher program, download below files and begin install it one by one
- Qualcomm_USB_Drivers_Windows ? there is no exe file so you must install it manual, if you dont know how to do it search at google.
- LenovoUsbDriver ? just extract and run it.
- QPST 2.7.422 ? flasher program need to install first before continued to the next step.
- Prepare device to ready for the next step.
- Turn on USB debugging, go to System Setting ? Developer Options ? give check on USB debbugging. If you missing Developer Options then go to System Setting ? About Phone ? tap 7x until 10x on Build Number
- Put the phone on diagnosis mode :
- Android KitKat 4.4.4 ? connect the phone to pc using USB cable then make dial *#*#8899#*#*, then just select OK
- Android Lollipop 5.0.2 ? turn off the phone, then turn it on again with hold Volume down + Power button until you can see service menu.
- Turn on USB debugging, go to System Setting ? Developer Options ? give check on USB debbugging. If you missing Developer Options then go to System Setting ? About Phone ? tap 7x until 10x on Build Number
- Look on the device manager on your pc, you should see something like on the picture
click on the image if you want see bigger picture
- S90-ROW_UnLock_BootLoader ? for international devices with Android KitKat firmware
- S90-CN_UnLock_BootLoader ? for china devices with Android KitKat firmware
- S90-ROW_UnLock_BootLoader_L ? for international devices with Android Lollipop firmware
- S90-CN_UnLock_BootLoader_L ? for china devices with Android Lollipop firmware
Unlocking bootloader for Lenovo S90 running Android KitKat or Android Lollipop (ROW/CN)
- Download the suitable files for your devices, and extract it contents on any drive. example C:S90-ROW_UnLock_BootLoader
- Run QFIL flasher program
- On the Programmer Path, select prog_emmc_firehose_8916.mbn from the extracted folder, it will automatically load Search Path
- Click on Load XML.... button and select rawprogram0.xml and patch0.xml also from extracted folder
- Click the Download button and wait the process until it finish, device will automatically reboot.

How to Change Modem File for Lenovo S860 CN and ROW Version - Changing modem needed when your device need to flashing different country firmware, eg You have Lenovo S860 bought from china and wanna flash international ROM version then you should install china modem after finish installing the ROM. and otherwise. Without installing modem file after flashing different country firmware will make your 3G not work, SIM 2 cannot be use and low signal strength on both SIM slot. As much as possible the modem file must be same with phone version, if not you will get some problem with signal strength, 3G signal, and etc. This tips and tricks safely followed but also have possibility to brick your device, always have your current ROM backup before modified.

Guide of Installation :
- Even wrong installing modem file not make your device brick, but it can make your device lost signal and cannot be used.
- If your phone is CN (with 1 GB RAM) then always install China modem even is you flashing ROW version firmware to your device. and the otherwise.
- But if you need to experiment then you can try to install CN for ROW and ROW for CN.
How to Change Modem File for Lenovo S860 CN and ROW Version
- Copy modem file to your phone, put it on SD Card root dont put it inside the folder.
- Reboot your device and go to recovery mode, You can use mobile uncle to reboot to recovery mode using combination button (Power Button + Volume Up + Volume Down) press and hold until you can see TWRP or CWM main menu
- On the recovery mode main menu, select Install ? Install Zip from Sd Card ? point to modem zip file ? Swipr to Install
- After finish installation, back to TWRP main menu and select Wipe ? Swipe to Factory Reset
- Wait the process and select Reboot
- Normal boot and confirm the change that you already made. go to System Setting ? About Phone look at Baseband section it must be same with modem version you installed.
- Done

Lenovo S660 Downgrade to S032 CN Firmware :
- Download all required files and place on one folder, for easy organized it. First you must make sure that USB VCOM driver is completely installed on you computer before continued to the next step, it will not work without USB VCOM driver installed successful.
- Extract S660_S032_CN and go to DL Tool & SOP sub folder, it will contains Lenovo USB Driver and Flash Tool v3.133, go to Flash Tool folder and run Flash Tool.exe if you are running windows 7 please run using administrator privilege.
- On the Flash Tool please make sure DA DL All with Checksum option is being checked, you will got error when this is not checked. Click on Scatter-Loading button and point it to Files_to_FlashTool/MT6582_Android_scatter.txt this action will automatic load entire files needed to Flash Tool.
- Finish configure on Flash Tool, now press Download button or hit F9 this will make Flash Tool become into stand by mode and ready to connect with your device.
- Now turn off your device and remove the battery, connect your device with USB cable. When USB VCOM driver is completely install Flash Tool will immediately recognize your device and will start to begin flashing process.
- Flashing process can be see by progress bar that show on the bottom of SP Flash Tool. Progress bar will be begin with RED, PURPLE, YELLOW and will be ended with GREEN CIRCLE on the middle of SP Flash Tool. When you see this sign then flashing process already finish and you can disconnect your device.
- Done, now you already successful install or downgrade your device to version S032 CN firmware with modified ROM. After successful boot check your current version on System Setting ? About Device see at Build Number make sure it same with downloaded ROM.

Flashing Lenovo S860 with CN version Firmware
- Download all required files to your computer, place it on one folder for easy organized it. Make sure USB VCOM driver completely install on your computer if not you will not unable to go to next step.
- Extract S860_S122_140405, then extracts target_bin and S860_flashtool_20131031. You will only need this 2 folders and ignore the rest.
- Go to S860_flashtool_20131031 extracted folder and run Flash_Tool.exe if you are using windows 7 please run it with administrator privilege. Checked DA DL All with Checksum option, this is must be checked. No click Scatter-Loading button and point it to target_bin/MT6582_Android_scatter.txt this will automatic load all necessary files to flash tool.
- After that, just press Download button or hit F9. Flash tool will begin initialize the ROM file this will take time 1-2 minutes just wait for flash tool become stand by mode.
- Now turn off your device, since Lenovo S860 use non-removable battery so you must wait until Lenovo S860 is completely turn off, because failing will make you open the case just for disconnect AC wire.
- If you feel that your device already completely turn off, then connect your device to your computer using USB cable, Flash Tool will immediately recognize your device and begin the flashing process, Flashing process mark with RED, PURPLE, and YELLOW bar on the buttom the SP Flash Tool.
- When you see GREEN CIRCLE in the middle of SP Flash Tool, then you can disconnect your device. It mean flashing process already finish with successful.
- Done. Now you already successful install Official CN Firmware for Lenovo S860. check on your System Setting ? About Phone, look on the Build Number make sure it has the same version with downloaded ROM.

Lenovo S939 Install Official CN Firmware S939_S129_140217 - If you wanna to update your Lenovo S939 first you must install or flashing your Lenovo S939 with CN firmware that have lower build number, in this case we use S939_S129. After finish installing or flashing this firmware you can freely update your device to Vibe UI 1.5 or Vibe UI 2.0, if you choose to update to Vibe UI 1.5 than you can refer to this Lenovo S939 Update Kit Kat Vibe UI v1.5 + Gapps + Root. - When everything is set up, select Download Only and then press Download button or hit CTRL + D, flash tool will initialized and become stand by and ready to make connection with your device.
- Turn off your device, because Lenovo S939 using non removable battery you must make sure that your device is completely turn off before connecting to your computer. After completely turn off you can connect your device to your computer using USB cable, Flashing process will immediately begin to start and it will be take 5-6 minutes just wait until you can see GREEN CIRCLE with Download OK information.

Re-Flashing Lenovo S850 with CN Firmware 70 Languages Android 4.4.2 - This ROM is official China release for Lenovo S850 but already modified with google applications and include with 70 languages inside. This ROM use Android 4.4.2 KitKat so if your device got problems after installing ROW version maybe this ROM can be alternative for you to try. Many problems will happen when you modified your devices so before making any change please do full backup your current ROM and IMEI, even this guide is for Lenovo S850 but it have possibility to brick your device so please becareful and read careful.

- Full backup your current ROM and IMEI, use MTK Droid Tool for full backup and IMEI but it need your devices to be root
- USB VCOM driver already installed on your computer, Turn off your device and remove the battery. If you device use non removable battery then just turn off and wait for 10-15 second to make sure that your cevices is completely turn off, using USB cable connect your device while look at My Computer ? Manage ? Device Manager there will be MTK65xx Preloader Devices show up for 2 second than disappeared, before disappeared right click on it and select Update Driver Software point it to USB VCOM driver extracted folder. When it finish disconnect and connect again there will be Mediatek PreLoader USB VCOM Port on your device manager.
- If you are use windows 8 then you need to disable sign driver option, before installing USB VCOM driver, it will block the installation.

- S850_CN_Multilanguage ? 621 Mb, Contains full image ROM for Lenovo S850 CN version modified.
- SP Flash Tool v5.1352 ? Flashing tool for MTK devices.
Re-Flashing Lenovo S850 with CN Firmware 70 Languages Android 4.4.2
- Download all required files and place it on one folder, for easy organize it. Extract all on the same folder too. Make sure USB VCOM driver is completely installed before continued to the next step.
- Go to flash tool extracted folder and run Flash_Tool.exe, if you are using windows 7 or windows 8 please run it as administrator privilege for avoid permission problem. On the flash tool open Options ? Option ? Download, make sure DA DL All with Checksum already checked. Press [x] to close and back to flash tool
- Back on the flash tool, click Scatter-Loading button and point it to S850_CN_Multilanguage extracted folder and select MT6582_Android_scatter.txt it will load all required images file to flash tool,
- If all loaded completely, select Download Only on download option then press Download Button or hit CRTL+D, flash tool will begin stand by and ready received connection with your phone.
- Now turn off your phone and make sure it already completely turn off. Connect your device to your computer using USB cable, if USB VCOM driver is completely installed then flash tool will recognize your device and begin to start flashing process, this flashing process will take 5-6 minutes and when finish it will be marked with GREEN CIRCLE in the middle of flash tool.
- Done, Now you can disconnect your device, and try to normal boot. First think that you wanna do is maybe change your language yo your country language and then confirm the build with go to System Settings ? About Phone.
