Lenovo S850, Installing Modified China Firmware version Vibe UI 2.0 1443 - This is Vibe UI 2.0 firmware for Lenovo S850 that already been modified by javum developer from russian, firmware can be installed using flash tool or from custom recovery also but to be able to install using custom recovery your previous firmware must be china version.
Today guide will use flash tool to install firmware to your device, before following this guide please do full backup ROM and backup IMEI. This guide is also have possibility to brick your device so please very consider it before starting following this guide.

Many of the system apps moved to the vendor folder (it is no problem to remove, but after a wipe they will recover)

Downloads :

VIBEUI_V2.0_1443_7.3.1_ST_S850 ? 493M, contains all images that required you to update your device to Vibe UI 2.0
USB VCOM Driver ? Install this driver first on your computer, Turn off your device and remove the battery, using USB cable connect your device while look at My Computer ? Manage ? Device Manager there will be MTK65xx Preloader Devices show up for 5 second than disappeared, before disappeared right click on it and select Update Driver Software point it to USB VCOM Driver extracted folder. When it finish disconnect and connect again there will be Mediatek PreLoader USB VCOM Port on your device manager.

SP Flash Tool v3.1324 ? this flash tool is optional download, you already got this flash tool on ROM download but it very recommended to use only this version.

Lenovo S850, Installing Modified China Firmware version Vibe UI 2.0 1443

Download all required files on your computer, this guide is using flash tool method so it need you to install USB VCOM driver so flash tool can recognize your device, on the ROM download there is USB VCOM auto installer so if you difficulty to install manual just use it.
Extract the ROM download and go to folder flash tool, run flash_tool.exe. If you are using windows 7 or later please run it using administrator privilege to avoid any permission error.
On the flash tool, please check DA DL All with Checksum option then click on Scatter-Loading button browse on target_bin folder and then select MT6582_Android_scatter.txt, this action will automatically load all images to flash tool.

Now you can press Download button or hit F9, flash tool will become stale condition and waiting your device to me connected, When Download button produce error 8032 then you can try using Firmware ? Upgrade button.
Turn off your device, because Lenovo S850 using non removable battery you must make sure that your device is completely turn off. Connect your device to flash tool using USB cable and flash tool will recognize your device and begin to start flashing process, it will take 5-6 minutes to finish and will be mark with GREEN CIRCLE in the middle of flash tool.
Done, now you can disconnect your device. Try to turn it on and do normal boot, first booting will take around 5 minutes so please be patient. Go to dialer and dial ####777# it will do factory reset on your device. Reboot again and your device ready to use.

Vibe UI 2.0 on Lenovo S650, How to install China Version Firmware - Vibe UI 2.0 on Lenovo S650 can be obtain if your Lenovo S650 using china version firmware. Vibe UI 2.0 is only available on china version, international or ROW still using Vibe UI 1.5 but not all devices received update for Vibe UI 2.0 because not all international device got china version firmware.
Today i will posting guide installing or flashing Vibe UI 2.0 on Lenovo S650, and tommorow i will post again how to install custom recovery and rooting Vibe UI 2.0 on Lenovo S650 so you can install Google applications easily.
Before start to follow this guide, there is something that you must to know. Vibe UI 2.0 is a china version firmware so it doesnt contains Google applications and only have 2 language which is china and english only.
This guide is about to flash or install new operating system to your device so it will erase all data and have possibility to brick your device, please be careful and consider it before start to follow this guide.

this ROM can only be install using recovery method, not available for flash tool installation method.

Vibe UI 2.0 on Lenovo S650, How to install China Version Firmware

Download the ROM files and move or copy to your SD card root folder, rename it become update.zip
This guide can be perform using custom recovery, so after installing china version firmware change your recovery. Refer to this guide How to Install TWRP v2.6.30 Custom Recovery for Lenovo S650, because standard china recovery will be on china language and dont have many features like custom recovery.
Turn off your device, press and hold Power button + Volume Up + Volume Down button until it show recovery main menu.
Select Wipe ? Swipe to Factory Reset
Back to main menu, Select Install ? navigate it to update.zip ? Swipe to install. Wait until installation progress finish and back to main menu again
Select Wipe ? Swipe to Factory Reset again for the last time, after finish back to main menu and select Reboot.
Done, enjoy your Vibe UI 2.0 on Lenovo S650.

Lenovo S860 2G RAM, How to Installing China firmware Vibe UI 2.0 1439 - Vibe UI 2.0 now can be installed on Lenovo S860 european version, on russian forum i have found custom ROM about how to installing Vibe UI 2.0 on european version Lenovo S860, current version is Vibe UI 2.0 1439 so it like kind a new update.
This guide is for Lenovo S860 with 2G RAM only, and to follow this guide you need to full fill some requirements. This guide is about to installing a new ROM on your device so it will erase your previous ROM and installing new ROM, please do backup preparation first before start following this guide, i will not responsible if you brick your device after following this guide so please consider it careful.

Requirements :

Recommended if you are using ROW_S308 international ROM version, but you can try using another version but try higher than ROW_S308.
This ROM installed using custom recovery on international ROM version, recommend to use TWRP v2.7.1.0. read How to Rooting Lenovo S860 Running Android KitKat ROW version, it will show you how to install custom recovery on Lenovo S860

Download :

Vibe_2.0_Lenovo_S860_EURO_V2 ? Vibe UI 2.0 that already modified so it can fit with Lenovo S860 european version.

Lenovo S860 2G RAM, How to Installing China firmware Vibe UI 2.0 1439

This guide not needed computer if you already installed custom recovery on your device, download the ROM file.
Copy or move it to you external SD card, or Internal Storage or somewhere that can be access on recovery mode, recommended to place it on the root not inside the folder.
Turn off Lenovo S860, and go to recovery mode. Press and hold Power button + Volume Up + Volume Down button will bring you to recovery mode.
On TWRP select Wipe ? Advanced Wipe ? Cache, Dalvik Cache, System, and Data ? Swipe to wipe. This process will erase all your user data and system data there is no turning back after this step.

When finish wipe, back to main menu and select Install ? Select Zip to install ? browse it where you store the ROM ? select ROM ? Swipe to install, you can see the installation log on the next screen it will show you the progress and the error that happen.

Wait until finish, once finish select Wipe ? Swipe to Factory Reset, it will just erase data, cache and dalvik cache, wait until finish the select Reboot.
Done, try to normal boot and wait until you can see welcome screen, first boot will take longer than usually so please be patient

Lenovo S650, How to Root Vibe UI 2.0 China version Firmware 1439 - After yesterday write a guide about how to install TWRP on Lenovo S650 running Vibe UI 2.0, now i will write a guide how to root it. With rooting your device, you now free to modified your device, change the user interface, modified system files, install custom ROM, backup / restore your current running ROM and etc.
But rooting also have disadvantage and for sure your warranty will be void, with rooting you can also accidentally erase or move system files that make your device brick, so please be sure to consider it first before following this guide.
Now let start the guide and please do it with careful especially when you installing custom recovery, because it can brick your device.

Requirements :

your device must already have custom recovery installed, follow how to install TWRP on Lenovo S650 running Vibe UI 2.0 if you still use standard recovery
backup important data in case something bad happen.

Download :

4.4Root ? this is a root applications and binary Su that will install on your system

Make sure you have install custom recovery TWRP or CWM and can run it with propely.
Copy or move 4.4Root to your external SD card, dont place it inside the folder place it outside the folder.
Now turn off your device, wait until completely turn off. While in off condition press and hold Power Button + Volume Up + Volume Down button release when you can see TWRP or CWM main menu.

On custom recovery main menu select Install ? Select zip to install point to external SD Card where you store 4.4Root and select it.

Swipe to install, installation will start and will take just for 5-10 second. just confirm every question that show with Yes button.
Finish, reboot your device. Let Android do system update and check on your home screen to see that application KingUser already install on your system. Confirm with RootChecker applications download from google play store.

Congratulation, you have successful root your devices, now you can freely modified your device to meet your needs. How to Root Lenovo S960 Running Android Kit Kat 4.4.2 - After successful installing Android Kit Kat 4.4.2 on your Lenovo S960, now i am gone posting a guide how to ROOT your Lenovo S960 running Android Kit Kat 4.4.2. This guide will only work for Lenovo S960 running Vibe UI v1.5 china version i dont know if it used for Vibe UI v1.5 ROW version. Sometime rooting our device is something that we must to do but it has it own consequences, for what i heard if you will never got OTA updates if you ROOT your device and of course void your warranty. This guide is also has possibility to brick your device so please read carefully and consider before follow this guide.

Downloads :

USB VCOM Driver ? Install this driver first on your computer, Turn off your device and remove the battery, using USB cable connect your device while look at My Computer ? Manage ? S960_S209_TWRP_2.6.3.0 ? This is a recovery file, so we need to change the default recovery file from Lenovo using this file. And this is only fit with china firmware only if you try this guide on ROW version you will got 8038 error on flash tool.
4.4Root ? Root file, this need to install with custom recovery. Move or copy this file to your external sd card.
SP Flash Tool v3.1320 ? Tool to flash / install, if you already has been follow my guide about Lenovo S960 that you must be already has this tool.

How to Root Lenovo S960 Running Android Kit Kat 4.4.2

Download all required files and place it on one folder for easy organize it. Please make sure that USB VCOM Driver installation is succeed before go to the next step. This is an important step because without having succeed you will never be continued to the next step.
Time to install Custom Recovery TWRP 2.6.30, extract SP Flash Tool v3.1320, and run Flash_Tool.exe if you running windows 7 then please run it with administrator privilege. Give check on DA DL All with Checksum option, you will got error when you not check this option.
Now click on Scatter-Loading button and point it to S960_S209_TWRP_2.6.3.0 extracted folder select MT6589_Android_scatter_emmc.txt this action will automatically load another necessary file to SP Flash Tool

After finish configure all, now press the Download button or hit F9, this will trigger a warning message that told you not all files loaded, just select Yes button.

Now turn off your Lenovo S960, make sure it completely turn off or just wait about 20 seconds after turn off your device.
Then connect your device to your computer using USB Cable, If everything work well then SP Flash Tool will recognize your device and start the flashing process. This process will be mark with RED and YELLOW bar bellow the SP Flash Tool, and if it already finish it will show GREEN CIRCLE int he middle of SP Flash Tool

Now you already finish install custom recovery to your device, Now turn on your device but with press and hold Power Button + Volume UP + Volume Down button until your device screen show recovery (TWRP 2.6.3.0) main menu.

On TWRP, select Install ? Install Zip from SD Card ? Select Zip file point it to 4.4Root that already move to your external sd card, Swipe to Install.
Wait the process until finish, then reboot your device normally. Check for KingUser icon on your applications drawer.
Done, Successful Rooting Lenovo S960 running Android Kit Kat 4.4.2, confirm it using Root Checker downloaded from Google Play.
