How to Root OnePlus 2 and Install Custom Recovery TWRP

OnePlus has finally released its new flagship phone OnePlus Two / OnePlus 2 , and many of you have already bought the beast and the first thing u would want is unlock bootloader ,  root and install custom recovery

So here is the tutorial , to unlock bootloader , flash TWRP custom recovery and root OnePlus 2 the flagship killer.

There are three parts in this tutorial :

• Unlock Bootloader of OnePlus 2
• Installing TWRP Custom Recovery
• Finally rooting the device

First We Need to Unlock the Bootloader.

1. Download the ADB and Fastboot Files - CLICK HERE  

Note :- Unlocking Bootloader will erase all your data it is best to backup everything before proceeding.

2. Power off your phone and Press Power + Volume Up to boot your phone in fastboot mode.

3. Now Connect your phone to your PC using USB Cable.

4. Extract the Adb And Fastboot.zip file which u downloaded in step 1 using WinZip or WinRaR and open the file named " OPEN " 

5. A command promt window will open , Enter the command  " fastboot devices " without quotes. In response you will see your device serial number.



Note :- If you do not see your device serial number , then u dont have proper drivers installed. Install ADB Drivers from here - Universal Windows ADB Driver

6. If you see your device serial number , enter the following command " fastboot oem unlock " , without quotes , this will unlock your bootloader ,  your device might boot up , let it boot completely.

7. Now turn off your phone , and again connect it in fastboot mode - Press Power + Volume Up to enter fastboot mode and enter the command " fastboot oem device-info " without quotes , you will couple of lines with flag set True , it means your device has been unlocked.

The next part is to Install Custom Recovery

1. Now the bootloader is unlocked we can install custom recovery. Download the TWRP Recovery file - twrp.img

2. Copy the twrp.img file to the Adb And Fastboot folder and run the following command " fastboot flash recovery twrp.img " without quotes.

3. After the flashing is successful , enter the command " fastboot reboot " , without quotes. Now you can disconnect the cable.

Now the final part Rooting your OnePlus 2

1. Download SuperSu.zip - LINK UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip

2. Copy it your internal storage of your OnePlus 2

3. Power off your phone , Press Power + Volume Down to enter into TWRP recovery

4. Now select Install and select the UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip which u copied , finally Slide to flash the file , now you can reboot your phone and enjoy root with Custom TWRP Recovery.
